Why invest in Punta Cana

The Caribbean's leading destination, with demand all year round.

  • Because it has what an investor looks for: tourism all year round, the country's busiest international airport, more than 120 hotels, beaches, golf and services that grow every year. Prices are still below comparable beach destinations, you can buy in US dollars and foreigners have the same property rights as Dominicans.

Capital growth and development

A region that keeps growing: roads, services and new towns.

  • Capital growth depends mainly on location, developer and timing. Historically, buyers who purchase off-plan in areas with new infrastructure capture most of the appreciation, as prices rise while construction progresses and the surroundings are completed. It is not a guarantee: that is why we show you each area's context and never promise figures.

CONFOTUR and taxes

  • It is the Tourism Promotion Council, which applies Law 158-01 on tourism incentives. When a project obtains its classification, buyers of its units can benefit from tax exemptions, including the transfer tax (3% of the value) on the first purchase and the real estate property tax (IPI) for 15 years.

Trusts and legal security

Your money and your title, protected by law.

  • It is a structure regulated by Law 189-11: the land and the buyers' payments are held by a trust company, separate from the developer's assets, and are only used to build the project. If the developer runs into trouble, the project and your money remain protected. Many of the developments we present work this way.

Where to buy: areas and neighbourhoods

Each area has its own price, lifestyle and rental profile.

Golf communities
Golf communities
  • Bávaro, Arena Gorda and Los Corales, by the beaches, are the most touristic. Downtown Punta Cana is the urban centre, with shops, restaurants and services within walking distance. Cap Cana and Puntacana Resort are the luxury private communities. Vista Cana, Coral Golf and Cana Bay are planned communities with golf, lakes and schools. Verón, Cocotal and the Cliff offer lower entry prices with plenty of development ahead.
